I love October. Spring brings new life to everything that sat in its dormant state during the cold of Winter. The bulbs are going ham. Flowers I know I didn’t plant are popping up from all over. The birds are swooping and whooping and outdoing each other with their calls. The mulberry bush is full and the red fruit is beginning to turn black. Cold mornings, warm days, short showers and fresh winds. In short, this is the best time of year.
I understand this is a completely different experience to those living in the Northern Hemisphere. The nights grow longer, the mornings chillier, the leaves lose their colour and the crickets sing that sad song signalling the end of the season.
Unfortunately, I cannot do much about the weather, but I can offer you a new book to accompany those grimmer nights. Somerset Gardens Ghost, the 10th in the Paranormology Series, is going to be released on the 10th of October, at 10 minutes past 10 o’clock.
OK, that last bit is a stretch, because in terms of releases, I cannot control the actual time of day when the book comes out, but let’s go with it.
The story throws back to the Grosvenor Lane and Jolimont Street. It sheds some light onto the Professor’s personal life and convictions, and reveals the weakness lying deep within the protagonist, perhaps within us all. And the ghost? Well, let’s just say it’s not as benign as it first seems…
