Adaptation – Part 5

Adaptation Part 5 takes up where Part 4 left off. Ottavio has caused some serious mischief for Houston, and for the Directors, and should be feeling pretty good about himself for a job well done. That isn’t how things go, and considering the bumpy road he’s been on so far, the most he can look forward to is a breather (but even that’s denied!) when he gets back to Saint Louis.

Ryan is pining after Esther, a human enough condition. Of course, if he is to be homodeus, to be above what it means to be a human, he must let his desires go. It seems that both Marcus and Father Abraham can see that. Perhaps that comes with maturity, with experience.

Ideas are spawned, plans are made, yet it seems that both Ryan and Ottavio are small gears whizzing about inside a great machine. Whose machine is it? Marcus? Father Abraham? Houston? You’ll have to find out!

The cover art for Adaptation – Part 5 uses a the back of my head, with the glowing dots representative of the Y-shaped coupling implanted into Ottavio to serve his optical display.
